Composer

A musician plays piano and sings while an older man watches in an elegant room.

JACK PEPPER (b.1999) has been nicknamed 'The King's Composer... the next Andrew Lloyd Webber' (The Daily Mirror, 2025).

He is one of the UK's youngest commissioned composers. His classical work exists alongside Musical Theatre and pop songwriting.

Classical composer

Jack was writing for orchestras professionally from his early teens. He composed for the Royal Opera House, Classic FM's 25th Birthday, the Royal Philharmonic Society, for the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra's 125th Birthday, for the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, The Band of HM Royal Marines and the London Philharmonic Orchestra - all before turning 18.

He has since organised and composed for Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, and written music for King Charles III.

Jack recorded his work with acclaimed conductors including Sir Antonio Pappano, Vasily Petrenko and Kirill Karabits. His music has been broadcast on Classic FM and the BBC.

Songwriter

In 2025, Jack was invited to write the first-ever song expression of His Majesty King Charles III's vision for the planet. Called Harmony - after His Majesty's book of the same name - it was written for The King's Foundation and premiered for The King at St James's Palace in June 2025.

Jack is also active in Musical Theatre:

UNLEASHED

A new stage musical co-written with BBC Radio 1's Matt Edmondson. It brings together magic, animals and mystery and takes us inside one of the most successful and notorious acts in Las Vegas history. It received its first public sharing at MAST Studios in November 2024.

DUET

Telling the true story of his piano teacher, this dance and song show is being developed in association with The Lowry, Mayflower Theatre / MAST Studios and Norwich Theatre. Songs from the show were premiered at the Royal Albert Hall in 2023 as part of the MFY Proms, and it has been featured on BBC Radios 2, 3 and 4 and on The One Show. It inspired Jack to create the Thank Your Music Teacher campaign.

GULLS & BUOYS

This children's seaside-themed revue tours primary schools each summer, supported by the Tasso Foundation, GLF Schools Foundation and RMG Associates. One of Jack's music mentors visits the school for weekly music sessions to teach a song a week, while the school community collaborates to build the sets and costumes. Jack then visits for the dress rehearsal and final performance, accompanying them on the piano for their end-of-year production.

Jack has also written a number of individual songs (both music and lyrics) for standalone occasions, including:

- The Commonwealth (a project devised by Jack that saw a song he had co-written with young people from around the world recorded by over 300 musical and youth groups globally, and  performed live at multiple world leader summits)

- The Holocaust Educational Trust (a song he performed alongside soprano Camilla Kerslake at the Roundhouse)

- The DMRC Benevolent Fund (Headley Court / Stanford Hall, a song he performed alongside The Band of HM Royal Marines with an RAF flypast)

"Hailed as the next Andrew Lloyd Webber, at just 26 years old Jack Pepper has been nicknamed the ‘King’s Composer.’ "
